The 5V power can come from any AIN or CCM in the area. The USB charging port provides 5V DC power to charge handheld electronic devices. The dual ports may be used to charge other devices but correct interface cannot be guaranteed. The FDPWRU5 must be connected to a FDCCM3, FDCCM43, FDCCM7, FDCCM102, or FDAIN which will supply the 5V DC power to the unit. The FDPWRU5 does not provide communication to any device; its sole purpose is to charge a device through a USB interface cable.
